Either King or Pawn

The Philosophy of Choice

Ode to First Loves

Before thought they were there for me,

Caution to the wind true.

Love so pure you can only see,

Manifestation new.

Two souls family would not mix,

From sight short and forlorn.

Fate saw it different from the sticks,

For three they would adorn.

Far from logic they did so teach,

To son and daughters above.

Truth and honesty will so reach,

The heart open for love.

Matriarch with a voice of silk,

Remains queen of her lair.

Heart of gold that could never wilt,

Always there and always with care.

Patriarch who is duty bound,

Finds meaning in wars.

Or so it seems allegiance found,

Alas, through the wooden door.
